Day 1 - Dambulla’s Ancient Wonders

We will meet you in Colombo before heading to Dambulla, exploring local markets along the way. At Dambulla, we will nvigate the UNESCO listed Cave Temple, which traces its history to the 1st century BCE. Prepare to be captivated by vibrant, centuries-old murals and serene Buddha statues, a profound testament to the island's enduring artistic and spiritual traditions. Spend some time viewing the amazing scenic vistas of the surrounding hills and valleys. The evening offers an enchanting Bush Walk during twilight, to observe nocturnal wildlife. Overnight in Dambulla (with breakfast and dinner included)

Day 2 - Panoramic Views, Village Life & Ancient Wonders

Day 4 - The Pekoe Trail and Journey Through Rural Sri Lanka

Enjoy a guided hike through stage one of the scenic Pekoe Trail with a local expert. Later, enjoy a picturesque drive through rural villages and rice paddies as we head to Udawalawe, a peaceful haven.Overnight in Udawalawe (with breakfast and dinner included)

Day 5 - Wildlife Safari & Galle’s Colonial Charm

This morning, embark on a thrilling jeep safari in Udawalawe National Park, seeking elephants and diverse wildlife. Afterward, visit the Elephant Transit Home. Later, we will head to Galle to explore the UNESCO-listed Galle Fort with a local expert. Overnight in Galle (with breakfast included)

Day 6 - Cycling Tour through a Rural Village & Beach Relaxation

Enjoy a guided cycling tour through Galle's scenic countryside, passing paddy fields and villages. Interact with local farmers and fishermen. Afterward, head to Mirissa Beach to relax, swim, watch the sunset and enjoy views from Parrot Rock and Coconut Tree Hill.Overnight in Galle (with breakfast included)

Day 7 - Tea, Culture & River Safari Before Colombo Farewell

We will visit the Handunugoda Tea Estate for a plantation tour with an expert local specialist. Later, visit the Martin Wickramasinghe Folk Art Museum for cultural insights into the South Coastal areas and enjoy a riverboat safari on the Madu Ganga, seeing local wildlife and visiting a few islands for cultural insights, before heading back to Colombo, where our trip concludes. End of Trip (with breakfast included)

What level of fitness do I need for this trip?

 This trip is designed for individuals with a moderate level of fitness. The hike up Pidurangala Rock and the trek along the Pekoe Trail are the most physically demanding activities. There will also be some walking, including cultural site visits, nature walks, and safaris. If you are comfortable with light-to-moderate physical activity, you will enjoy this trip. 

What is the group size on this trip?

 This is an open group trip, and the group size typically ranges from 8 to 16, ensuring a personalized and intimate experience. 

Is this trip suitable for small children?

 This tour is designed for adults and children aged 6 years and above. 

Do I need to bring any special gear?

 Comfortable hiking shoes for the Pidurangala Rock climb and the Pekoe Trail trek are recommended. Sun protection (hat, sunscreen, sunglasses) and light clothing for the warm weather will also make your trip more comfortable. If you are joining the cycling tour, it is helpful to wear sportswear and comfortable shoes. We will send you a packing guide with any additional recommendations as your travel dates approach. 

Are meals included in the trip?

 Some meals are included, particularly during special cultural experiences (like the village lunch on Day 2). Breakfast is included each day at your hotel. For lunch and dinner, we will take you to local restaurants and offer food experiences. 

Can I get picked up from my hotel in Colombo?

 Yes, hotel pick-up in Colombo is available. We can also arrange pick-up from Colombo's International Airport, Negombo, or any location in between upon request. Please let us know in advance, and we will coordinate the details. A small fee may apply for pick-ups outside the Colombo City limits. 

Are tips and gratuities included?

 Tips for your tour guide and local experts are not included in the trip price and are at your discretion.  

How much luggage can I bring?

 You are allowed one medium-sized suitcase or backpack for your luggage, as well as a smaller bag for daily essentials. Since this trip includes some activities like safaris and hiking, light packing is recommended to make it easier to travel. 

Is there any travel insurance required for the trip?

 While our vehicles are comprehensively insured, we highly recommend securing personal travel insurance for added peace of mind. Vehicle insurance covers the transport itself, but personal travel insurance is essential for covering unforeseen circumstances, including medical emergencies, trip cancellations, lost baggage, and personal liability. Additionally, we recommend ensuring that your insurance policy specifically covers activities included in the trip, such as nature excursions or any other activities that may involve physical exertion or risk.
