Today, we will depart from Colombo and journey through rural towns to the ruins of the 13th-century capital city of Dambadeniya where our guide will paint a picture of its former glories. Later, proceeding to Dambulla, we will visit the UNESCO listed Cave Temple of Dambulla, which traces its history to the 1st century BCE. Prepare to be captivated by vibrant, centuries-old murals and serene Buddha statues, a profound testament to the island's enduring artistic and spiritual traditions.

This morning, we will journey to the UNESCO listed, Ancient City of Anuradhapura, a sprawling city which reigned as the island's first royal capital and a beacon of civilization for over 1500 years to explore its magnificent ruins, stupas and sacred sites with our knowledgeable guide. Returning to Dambulla in the late afternoon, you have the option of an enchanting Bush Walk during twilight, to observe nocturnal wildlife.

This morning we will journey to the Ancient City of Sigiriya for a guided visit to the Sigiriya Rock Fortress, a UNESCO listed iconic site which traces its history to the 5th century CE. Feel the ancient fortress come alive as you walk through its water gardens, see its frescoes and unique mirror wall. In the afternoon, we will take you to an agricultural village where you could enjoy a bullock-cart or tractor ride and experience life in a village, including preparing a traditional rice and curry meal with the local village folk. Later, we will head to our hotel in Sigiriya.

This morning, we will journey to Polonnaruwa to visit its UNESCO listed Ancient City which traces its history from about the 9th century CE, with the fall of Anuradhapura. Discover its impressive ruins, with our local specialist, such as the Gal Vihara, and the Royal Palace remnants and learn of its impressive reservoirs' engineering. The afternoon features an exciting Jeep Safari in Minneriya National Park, known for its elephant herds and diverse wildlife. (June-Sept: potential to witness the 'Gathering').

The morning offers an optional hike in the tranquil Ritigala Forest Sanctuary, a historic monastic site. Later, we will journey to the UNESCO listed, Ancient City of Kandy for an afternoon tour which includes a visit to the Temple of the Tooth, and a captivating cultural dance show which highlights traditions that span over 2500 years.

The morning offers the option of a scenic trek along stage one or stage two of the Pekoe Trail where you could see some magnificient and picturesque landscapes. If you prefer a more relaxed pace, a stroll through the Royal Botanical Gardens' tropical beauty may just fit. Later, we will journey back to Colombo, visiting a traditional herbal garden to discover Ayurveda's ancient holistic lifestyle and healing practices. In the evening, enjoy a Farewell Dinner before retiring to your hotel.
