While our vehicles are comprehensively insured, we highly recommend securing personal travel insurance for added peace of mind. Vehicle insurance covers the transport itself, but personal travel insurance is essential for covering unforeseen circumstances, including medical emergencies, trip cancellations, lost baggage, and personal liability. Additionally, we recommend ensuring that your insurance policy specifically covers activities included in the trip, such as nature excursions or any other activities that may involve physical exertion or risk. While we take every precaution to ensure your safety, travelers are responsible for their own well-being during the trip. Please check with your insurance provider to ensure your policy includes coverage for all aspects of your travel.
For a smooth and enjoyable trip, we recommend bringing lightweight, breathable clothing for warm weather, along with sturdy shoes for sightseeing and nature excursions. Do not forget swimwear for any beach visits or water activities. It is important to protect yourself from the sun, so pack sunscreen, a hat, sunglasses, and insect repellent. Make sure to bring your passport, travel insurance details, necessary visas, and a copy of your trip itinerary. If you take any prescription medications, be sure to pack them, along with basic toiletries like a toothbrush and toothpaste. A camera or smartphone with chargers and adapters for Sri Lanka is a must for capturing memories, and we also suggest carrying a reusable water bottle to stay hydrated throughout the day. A full list of what else you should bring will be provided before you arrive for your trip.
We understand that not everyone may be interested in every activity. If you choose not to participate in the whale watching excursion or the safari, you are more than welcome to relax at the designated locations, whether that be at the beach or back at the hotel. Alternatively, you can explore the area on your own or enjoy some free time to do something that suits your preferences. Please feel free to let us know in advance if you decide not to participate, so we can help you plan alternative options and ensure you have an enjoyable time regardless.
The ideal months for whale watching are November to April when the seas are calm. The trip can be enjoyed year-round, but if whale watching is important to you, we recommend booking during the relevant season. As an alternative to whale watching, particularly for travel between May and October, we provide a Guided visit to the UNESCO designated Galle Fort with a local specialist.
